Floored the car the other day, then total lack of power and ABS light flashing with car severly stuttering.
Any clues or fixes most appreciated as it is doing my head in!
Does it do it every time ? I was going to say it sounds like the ECU cutting fuel, if so it can be caused by the MAF connector, or boost leak, excessive boost etc, etc, but the ABS light coming on is making me think it could be something like a dead short killing the power like you have turned the ignition key off.
How and when does it do it ?
Check the one way valve under the rear bench and the one on the front firewall (Purple vac hose IIRC) and the green vacuum ball behind one of the rear doorcards for leaks (dont know wich one on RHD but behind the left hand one on my car) This happened on one of my S2,s and then on boost the ABS light came on and the difflock LED lit up (Speedsensor wire was cut though) This caused boost to be blown the wrong way and acually locked the diff when on boost.
Only occurs when say dropping two gears and flooring it. TBH i dont think the cars acceleration is good at all but goes like a train when your past a ton.
Owned bikes all my life and never really been a car man, but defo something wrong.
Problem being where i stay no real specialist to give the car a right looking over IMHO.
