I still have mechanical lifters standing on my wishlist. Now iI saw a set of mechanical buckets from catcams, but I would like to know if someone from the forum uses these?
Are they any good, and can I go up to 8000 RPM with those? I was only planning to replace the hydro's no other cams or valves.
Thanks,
Jeffry

You can use the bucket tappets from early 5 cyl engines in the 20V head, but they are expensive and will need shims, this would take ages to do aswell. Also what clearance would you set the tappets too????

I think we are going to use either catams or make our own buckets.
No Idea 'bout clearance yet. For now I'm using hydro's but ina couple of months I change to solid lifters

you may use old mec lifterunits from older than 85 and from older diesels.... they fit right in, and if you use the thinnest shim (2,2mm) you does have to cut the valves in the upper end.
