Audi S2 3B, no electric current to the spark plugs

I'm having a problem with my S2 and my mechanic cannot find the problem.
He was doing some basic maintenance to the car and all of the suden when trying to start the car, the car wouldn't start.
He checked several things and after that he checked if the spark plugs receives electric current and that was the problem. The spark plugs doesn't spark.
He checked the distributor and the distributor gear was damaged.
I've ordered it from a guy in Lithuania, it came yesterday. The mechanic put the fixed distributor back in the car and the car still doesn't receive electric current to the spark plugs.

    What could be the problem?

At this time I've located a 3B MOTRONIC ECU here in Romania and I've talked with that guy to send it to me, maybe that's the problem.

Any advices would be highly appreciated.

    Hi.

I think the distriburor is not in correct position.
I had the same problem when I changed my cambelt.
Try to turn the distributor so the OT and ignition module must be in correct position.
If this is not correct you may have this problem.

    Cheers
    Peter

      Hi Peter,

The mechanic already did that. Still no current to the spark plugs.

      Thanks

            Pull the codes from ECU.

Your distributor is in incorrect position, or there is no signal from the hall sensor/crankshaft position sensor/engine speed sensor.
Although engine speed sensor fault ALWAYS shows when car is not started, even when it's ok.

Yesterday I've received a brand new distributor. I've mounted the new distributor on the car today and it started just fine.
              The distributor was the problem...
