What engine do you have? 3B or AAN?

That is an intake manifold and I would say that is not the first place to find extra hp on these engines (exhaust manifold, turbo, injectors, S/W, etc before intake mods).

I have a AAN S4 engine mate and I'm starting to collect all parts for a engine build but my german is rubbish .
So is my tuning knowledge on these old school audi's .
So is it as good as a Wagner manifold and will it fit my car ok ?

S4 engine you will need the s2 or rs2 water manifold before you can fit a reverse inlet
It's not as good as a Wagner or mtm as they are cast and virtually indestructible
However a good welded designed can flow better but prone to popping welds under heavy boost if not done correctly

As demonstrated by Will at VRS, the stock intake manifold will manage just fine

It's not a question of power with the inlet manifold, didn't see that post. Power is irrelevant you would go for a reverse inlet for huge improvement in throttle response and lower intake temperatures / reduced boost pipe length.

I know, hence I was asking about target power (as that was the OPs question), as at a certain point an uprated intake manifold will become required, whereas at lower levels the money would be better spent elsewhere if just after power. Stock AAN manifold is not too bad a manifold.

What power level that then? I've seen cars between 600-800 bhp running stock inlet manifolds. The throttle body is more of a restriction before the manifold becomes an issue.

Inlet manifold being a problem is an urban myth
