    7a temp gauge inoperable

7a 90 with non working temp gauge
What's the part number of sender? Is this more likely than knackered gauge in dash?
I ve thought of an after market gauge if anyone knows thread size as I don't want to take it off till I do the job

It runs off the mfts, so you can really just put a different sender in as it has a couple of other functions too. But its a M14x1.5 thread, screws into bottom of water passage connected to inlet side of head.

Find the colour code for the temp gauge wire from the sensor. Short that wire to earth for 5 seconds (no more!) while having an assistant watch the gauge needle with the ignition switched on. If the needle moves up into its scale it's the sender that's fried. If it does not move it's more liklely a problem in the dash. Does your fuel gauge work?
