May I ask what kit you use for aqua blasting? And what psi it runs at?

    This!
I am surprised no one has mentioned Aqua blasting!
Sand Blasting is a no no and Media blasting with baking soda or wallnut shells produces OK results. We aqua blast all of our aluminum and it comes back like new from factory. Very few people offer this service globally and 90% of the guys that actually do are in the UK!

There are a fiar few threads on Honda forums about engines killed by sand blasted cam covers with sand left in them (they are rather fond of painting them).

I would vapour or soda blast.

    What does JP do?

It does take a little longer as its not as harsh.
When blasting car panels you can even take off just one layer of paint at a time.
I learnt my lesson the hard way, do it outside

Also when finished just submerge your clean part in water and it dissolves any left over media!!!!!
Speaking of left over media! I finally fitted the PZero NERO 35 Profiles i bought off you 3 years ago! (They look the ****!) Thanks dude! :-)
