Max power

and a question no doubt has been asked before. Iv searched the forum and can,t find any ref to what i would like to know. What is the maximum power to be gained from a stock aby engine, iv been told it,s 300bhp but 280 is the norm i will be changing the exaust to a turbo back prospeed 3" with sport cats not sure what sort of gain i will get but is 300bhp poss without the exaust and would the exaust give me any extra as i said i will be doing the exaust anyway. but i would like to map the car first. also what sort of cost is involved with a remap.

Depends what you mean by "stock".

If by stock you mean, no turbo or EM or injector changes, then max is about 280 hp, e.g., MTM Stage 1+ s/w.

If by stock you mean, stock internals, but RS2 EM, RS2 turbo, RS2 injectors (or the equivalent non-RS2 for those), then max is about 380 hp.

prj's got that up to 430's now with a 3071r turbo.
