Before you go too far, try to consider that there are both technical *AND* environmental reasons for both the OE PCV system and the fuel tank evaporative emissions control system.

    PCV info:

That doesn't prevent you from installing a catch can inline with the PCV system (as in this proposed AAN catch can location diagram):

I used this diagram to build mine

Very little oil gets through to the catch tank, just water and some oil vapour which mixes to form mayo.

ok,still confused as both diagrams are not suitable for my set up.....basically i want to get rid of the long blue hose(in the pic) and stop smelling fumes!!also to get rid of as much pipework as possible, also i dont want return to sump.....all the vacuum trees are long gone as is the charcoal valve etc,i dont have anything attached to the inlet either...

That setup makes no sense in your pic, who set that up and is the cam cover standard or is it a JP modified one?

The pics are applicable to your setup, the reason you smell fumes is because your outlet is a filter.

If you want no smells disonnect the filter and run the output to the turbo inlet.

            lol...it is a bad setup i know..
.not jp modded...i dont want to "tap"into the turbo inlet as its a big pipe, nor do i want oil travelling down the turbo...
are both large outlets on the rocker cover the same(bar the smaller one on the rear)

just realised the breather filter on the catch can will cause my fume smell

It your catch tank is setup you get no to minimal vapour plus you really should connect it there to provide a vacuum source to the system.

ok..do i really need the catch can??
if i bung the hole in the front of the rockercover ,,can i just use the standard pipework on the rear of the rocker cover to the 32mm crankcase but with the "dalick" removed??

i am realy confused to this now as i have read all day to no avail, most set ups i have seen run the 7a rocker and this has no outlet on the front nor do they tap into the turbo inlet and not a lot of them have a catch can

Your over confusing thing this is the defacto setup

Catch tank alone is not a good setup you need the seperator

Look at the Rusty threads for setup and parts

With the set up I have you shouldn't get any oil getting back to the turbo as the seperator and catch tank will get it first. The vacuum from the MAF-turbo hose will drag all the fumes back into the inlet, hence no smell. It works perfectly on mine, not sure it would be up to your driving style though

Get in touch with Rusty if you want a seperator, that's who I got mine from.

Sorry a bit confused with the oil separator , is this necessary i'n all setups? And does this work with the catch can to remove crank case pressure or just collecting excess oil that would possibly end up in the turbo ?

It removes oil that would end up in the turbo yes. You wouldn't need it around stockish power but when your in the 400 and above you should be using one if possible as the blowby increases greatly.

I think this might be what I need to my catch can as I believe I am still receiving alot of blow by with just my catch can itself

I've seen this one around, now does this eliminate a catch can? Or do you run the Mann oil separator , plus a catch can ?
