3B Cam cover breather question (Yet another)

This relate's to a topic that seems to being discussed a lot of late, that is catch tank and breather systems.

I've added another (AN10) breather outlet to my 3B cam cover, as pictured below, which is going to be welded in position. I'm going to use a slash guard the same as under the oil filler cap. Is there any point in retaining the existing breather on the rear of the cover? I ask as Audi obviously put it there for a reason, which I'm wondering is to prevent a build up of oil in the rear of the head under hard acceleration. If it need's to be kept for that reason I'm going to weld another AN 10 fitting there and route it back down to the main crank case breather on the block. If not I may as well blank it off and save on hose and fittings as well as hassle.
