    starter motor solonoid

sorry, if this has been posted before but i did a quick search and didnt find anything

ok, went to start the car this morning and all i got was an electrical type click

does that mean the the solonoid is fried? and if so do i need to replace the whole starter motor? if i do need to replace it, is it something i can at hoem with the car on ramps?

i love my toy , but it is definitely wearing a deep hole in my pocket

check that the braided copper wire between the starter and the solenoid is not broken...mine had and unfortunately there is no way to buy this wire as a separate spare so probably time for a new one.

    Cheers,

    David
P.s. if you search on starter motor on the forum search tool you should be able to find the original thread which i posted some pics up.

Mine was corroded down to a few strands. But I actually did buy that copper wire and just replaced it. It is pretty easy. You just have to open the starter motor to attach that wire.
