    2.5 vs 1.8t coilpacks

I have a set of 2.5 coilpacks on my 3b. cant get spark out of any of them on my standalone.

I know 2.5 coils are interchangeable with 2.0tfsi coils. you can use 2.0tfsi coils on a 1.8t as an upgrade.....if i swap in a 1.8t coilpack i get spark. i swapped my 2.5 coils into a buddies 1.8t and they all work no issues.....so anyone have any insight on these?

here is a 1-8k rpm spark test on a 1.8t coil. i have tried different dwell times and i just cant get the 2.5 coils to spark on standalone.

Just need to remove some rubber of each coil and done.

If not,use aan or aby. Cover

i also managed to install a small plate in the top, bolted in the original 3B spark plug cover bolt holes....to prevent the coils to be "out" for a milimiter going up.

because i have broken 2 or 3 coils in one year because this reason.

anyway they are only 35€ each

                        ill post pictures of it

i tried a 2.0tfsi coil and still cant get spark. tried 3 other random revision of the 1.8t coils and all get spark.

stock coil triggering is +positive correct? my DTA standalone uses ground triggering. what i cant get is that i can only get 1.8t coils to fire and no other one

The stock AAN ECU does take the coil to ground via the POS to generate the high voltage spark in the coil. How many grounds are you running to each coil pack? One or two? For the 1.8t DIY I specified running 2, one off coil pack pin 2 and one off coil pack pin 4, as shown below in the context of an AAN harness.
