    Water Injection

What kits do people use? I'm thinking it might be a rather nice addition to my RS2 setup and want to know costs etc. as I'm looking at exhaust mods and might take a different route depending on budget required for H2O injection...

depends how fancy you want it. Can pay anwhere from £140 to £700 coolingmist is the cheapest / value for money. Aquamist and Devils own are highend. You have AEM as well

Cheers. I'm looking at it as an addition rather than something to rely on, so I think something towards the more cost effective end will more than suffice but just wanted to see what is available. I remember looking some which used the MAF voltage instead of a simple pressure switch, so was interested what people use.

A devilsown progressive kit would do you fine or Aquamist HFS-3

I want a Aquamist HFS-4 ( replaces the HFS-5 ) but they are mucho money!

Just don't add meth to the waternix tends to wear the intake guides incredibly fast.

Cheers, will more than likely use the windscreen washer tank, so it'll have a nit if screen wash in there but minimal meth.

Devilsown kit looks likeit might be doable with the 30 psi map sensor or 0-5v sensor. Should be a nice thing to have in warmer air and track days.

I use aquamist with the injector controller so that amount injected depends on boost and fuel injector pulse width. Have run a 40% meth mix for 2 years without issue. Remember most only operate at WOT or above a certain boost level so the amount of time weak meth mixture getting added is minimal for road use. Certainly made a difference to mine.

Purely charge cooling as it's just RS2 spec on a stock engine & clutch.... It'll also mean that it's not the end of the world if it runs out of water and I won't need to get it remapped just yet.

I spoke to Bruce Morris today and If you are interested in a Devils-Own kit he can do a special price for you if you call him over the Bank Holiday weekend.
If you tell him the spec. of your car he can tell the best set-up, jet sizes, progressive or non progressive control etc. He can also offer a fitting sevice at at a very good price if you buy direct from him.

His number is: 07851 600826. (just say my name when you call)

                          Robin.

A devilsown "progressive" controller will dump the same amount in your intake at 3000 rpm as it will at 6000 rpm at the same boost.

Because it is based purely on boost, nothing else.
Push-to-connect fittings tend to leak after a while.

Aquamist is doing it right by using IDC to inject.
Personally I will go with a devilsown kit, but with AN lines/fittings, and my own controller which is mappable based on MAF signal.

You could get their voltage based controller and run that off the MAF. It will be better than running it off of boost, but if you are running 50/50 and a lot of it, and tuning for it, then it will not be good. But for pure water go for it.

Or if you have a standalone that has a free output with a driver and can do PWM based on airflow, that's good as well.

Everything else is a half-assed solution IMO. Boost is just pressure. Engines are all about flow.

@ pw-rs2, cheers for the heads up on discount but I'm not going to have the funds until I sell my other car.

@ prj, cheers for clearing that up, there's little difference in price, so best to go for the MAF voltage item

Having spoken to a very 'bad' influence on my car, I've got a few other ideas too
