Early Audi 5 Cylinder flywheel (228mm) and VR6 Clutch?

    Hi all,

I've been looking for an MC flywheel for my project... fitting an AAN 2.2 20V Turbo into my 1989 Syncro 16 Transporter.

I'm using the South African Bellhousing which is very shallow.

The flywheel and clutch setup cannot be more than about 75mm in height from the engine block.

I've used this successfully with an MC1 flywheel and clutch with a 2.5TDi AAT engine but in UK, these flywheels are not easy to find and the clutch was very heavy under foot.

I'm now looking at using an NG 228mm flywheel from a 2.3 10V engine or similar and a stronger clutch like the 2.8/2.9 VR6.

Has anyone tried this? Will it fit?

    Thanks

    MG

Sorry, I should have made that clearer...

Will the VR6 pressure plate fit?

I'm not concerned about the friction plate.
