    part number for blanking plate

I'm trying to work out what the part number is for a blanking plate to cover hole in photo. I'm using the return inlet in the side extension of the sump as my aircon pump will cover the block return. I've had a good search through etka but cannot get a definitve answer....

    ideas anyone??....

    cheers
    Mike

its strange that you say that, as I got the sump from another forum member who has blocked the sump extension inlet off..so if there is no official part to blank the area I'll just use that one....

pm your address for those adaptors unless your planning a trip to Brian's in the next couple of weeks...

There is no blanking plate required as the aircon pump screws into that hole and seals it

the is a plate with the bracket for the aircon compressor. It is not a part of the compressor.

The point is if he has aircon already he does nto need to buy a separate part, it already there

I just fitted the plate back on there but it started to leak, as the bolts I'd used were bottoming out in the threads by the smallest of margins <1mm. I just used some washers to space teh bolt out and all was well.

I think I have a plate somewhere - can have a look, if you need one... it confused the hell out of me when I put my engine back in! Until I noticed that the AC bracket blocks it completely, and I don't hae any idea where it came from as I've not had a car without AC before*

*I've also never had one with working AC. Except my trusty Golf.

here's something odd....I've taken the air con pump off my current engine without doing anything else and it hasn't lost any oil.... so if my bracket has come off how the hell is the oil staying in the engine!!!...

                            black magic me thinks....
