    Overshooting boost

On my way to work this morning ( fun drive! ) I noticed as the car builds boost, it slightly overshoots to about 22psi and instantly drops below 20 then tails off toward the red line as you'd expect.

Is this overshoot normal, if not, what could be causing it?

Is it an ABY? are you sure it's not just the overboost function of the ecu? should only happen in 3rd gear and above

Not if it's home-fried, this is deleted so does it in all gears, should hit 21 psi, then taper off quick, your gauge is probably not that accurate, so it sounds OK to me.

Yea, its aby and It's been chipped but not sure by who.

It feels like quite a drop in power when it happens and I think its in all gears, ill confirm at lunch.

What boost should it be targeting roughly? Sorry if this is well known info on the forum, I'm on my phone and search is rubbish!

Impossible to tell if you don't know the origin of the chip, but typically the peak
boost and a standard turbo is 21 psi/ 1.4 bar midrange, tapering off rapidly to redline.

Is that on a standard map?

No, that's for a chipped car with stock set up, turbo, injectors, etc.
