    AAN engine to ABY gearbox

About to put engine back together and put it back in, do I need to take the spacer off the ABY engine to put on the AAN engine? going to use the flywheel off the AAN so guessing I don't need to use the spacer.

My understanding is you shouldn't need it with the AAN flywheel. But i've never seen one first hand so i dont know if there is a difference with the pressure plate or not.

AAN to ABY grear box will not require a spacer, the AAN uses a different flywheel and clutch

AAN flywheel is dual mass normally, like ABY and ADU engines have. So yes you would need a gearbox spacer for sure if everything is stock AAN. 3B and 7A engines have single mass flywheels, not requiring a gearbox spacer

that doesn't make sense considering that an AAN in a C4 Chassis with its dual mass flywheel and 01E gearbox does NOT require a spacer. the aby and ADU must use a different clutch/flywheel setup which requires a spacer.

I have an AAN block with 7A LWFW and 7A Spec clutch to my 01E transmission.

I seem to remember the AAN flywheel and clutch setup is not as deep as the ABY/ADU setup.

                          Correct Mr.Tonks

AAN is shallower than the S2 dual mass complete setup.

i fitted the standard AAN into my A4 gearbox with no spacer

At some point the flywheel must have been changed because I just fitted the aan engine with the clutch that came with it and it needs the spacer

remove the clutch from the engine and try it up to the gearbox without it on
