    Engine problem

    Hi guys
Ive got a problem with my 3b engined coupe. Its putting out blue smoke whilst sitting at idle in traffic .Ive read through threads on here that it was pointing at the turbo.I removed Turbo and had it reconditioned. After i got it back i installed it and also put new breather silicone hoses on .After about 3 days smoke returned so removed the turbo thinking it was leaking again got it tested and found to be perfect ,At the same time i installed new valve stem oil seals rebuilt every thing again on friday past, went for a blast on saturday and to my shock the dreaded blue smoke has returned. So on sunday i decided to do a compression test, first thing i did was to run the car up to temp then let it cool for 10 mins, removed sparkplugs starting at front, i removed 4 of them then as i removed no.5 i noticed a vapour coming out of no.5 plug hole which had a very strong smell of oil . No 1 10.5 bar,No2 11 bar,No 3 11 bar ,No4 10.5 bar and No5 11 bar.
Has anyone ever come across this before . I spoke to my mechanic and on his advice i removed the head to have it checked out .

got a similar thing myself, been reading up on it...i must admit i havent got round to checking the breather system yet...cant find the time.

i chucked a newer turbo on and that did help for quite a while and now the blue smoke has started coming back but only when very warm

anyway on my travels someone suggested worst case scenario piston rings.

What dimension is your block at tdc(for rings not pistons)?
Are valve guides new also or just seals?

          Regards,

Just a thought, did you clean the I/C and pipework out after changing the turbo, I/C can hold a lot of oil....
