    Boost issue and wg question!

    Hi!

I have a stock ecu tuned for 1,7bar of boost with a 1,5bar wg spring but when driving in third gear I hit 2,2bar of boost on my external guage.. what could cause this ? The whole system is pressure tested to 2,5bar without leaks, all ic pipe hoses has new clamps.

Could it be my stock wg that is way to small for my gt35 or could it be my wastegate leaking exhaust pressure thruw the valve guide ?

Also wounder what lenght and size the 4 bolts has that is placed on the ex mani ?

Was it tuned for 1.7 bar with a 1.5 bar spring ?
I would think it would be unlikely any tuner would tune
for a boost target and have the spring boost just below that.

Hmm, strange because that´s what turbo center in stockholm told me (they tuned it) :s

How far could a rs2 wg spring go ? I will fit another wastegate and try, that one has a stock rs2 spring in it.

My RS2 set up for example is tuned for 1.85 bar boost and the stock
spring is 0.4 bar boost / 1.4 bar absolute.

Do you mean your spring is 1.7 absolute ? Sounds more likely .

Hmm, don´t know more than that my spring is a 1,5bar one.. with the the n75 disconnected it hits 0,5bar on the external guage..
But once the n75 is connected it hits 2,2bar on the external guage even if the ecu is tuned for 1,7bar = real pressure!

Sounds like you have a stock spring screwed down a bit to make
0.5bar which is 1.5 bar absolute. Standard spring is 1.4 bar absolute,
0.4 bar boost on gauge with N75 disconnected.

Yeah that could be the case.. The spring is screwed down around 6 turns to give me 1,5bar on external boost guage without the N75 connected. But still doesn´t know why the boost goes up to 2,2bar(on external boost guage) with the N75 connected and the spring load at minimum :s

You said before it was 0.5 bar with it disconnected ! Now you are saying 1.5 bar,
                  which is it ?

                    My explanation that is bad..

N75 connected and the adjuster screw at minimum = 2,2bar at external guage
N75 disconnected and the adjuster screwed in 6 turns = 1,5bar at external guage
N75 disconnected and the adjuster screw at minimum = 0,5bar at external guage

If it is making 2.2 bar with the N75 connected and 0.5 bar disconnected
then it sounds like the mapping is incorrect or map sensor faulty or the
wrong type of map sensor for the mapping.

I would speak to PRJ on here as he will be able to help with this.

Prob is.. Or my wastegate is jammed or something ?!

The mapsensor is the right one, 300kpa one..

Well, I´ll try with a new wastegate, just need to change out my clutch, bought a new kit with alu flywheel, 707 press plate and a 4 plate kep zinter!

What´s the lenght on the wastegate/ex mani bolts ??

The thing he is not telling you is that his car was never tuned at all.
He bolted on some bits from another car which was tuned at some point in time.

                          Draw your own conclusions.

It´s true! But I now have exactly all the bits that the other tuned car had!
How much for a tuning session with u?, I can fix free hotel room for u here in Gothenburg.
