problem with cooling fan, having a life of its own..
have a problem with the cooling fan of the main radiator: It starts and stops by itself, when the engine isn't or hasn't been running> It looks like something's triggering the fan to start running. Any idea what this could be? The switch in the radiator sending faulty signals? Or?
Any info appreciated!
thnx.

With the ignition off, the only fan speed that will run is #1.
This is the afterrun system which triggers this. Things to check are sensor on water rail, relays in the fuse box, resistor pack, the afterrun controller and the wiring to/from each of these parts

I've been trawling through pages on the forum and also 7zap but cannot find the part number for the radiator fan thermal switch - the 3 pin one screwed into the bottom of the main radiator.
Can anyone help?
