    Pre pump filter.

I'm just about to fit an inline 044 pump and want to fit a pre filter. Any advice on filter flow?

There is no pre filter on the outside mounted pumps...but...Sportquattro has an separator..looks like an filter..but is only a baffle to keep the heavy dirt out the pump...

Its going on my typ85 90 and that has some kind of filter(separator possibly) between the tank and the pump. I think even a gauzed fitting might be a good idea just incase any crap in the tank ends up in the pump. I dont want to cause any restriction before the pump as its gravity fed and needs plenty of fuel sitting on top of it.

        Any more thoughts anyone?

          Yes.

Basically buy a inline filter and make the fittings from the pump offer straight up to it. Speedflow do some that you can replace the elements and flow more fuel per hour than two 044 pumps can so you will not create any restrictions

This seems ok and i can get bigger fittings for it as well.
