Quick question, did you change all of the coils or just rewire the good ones and replace the faulty ones?...

Coils were fine, it was the wiring that was causing a poor spark - it all runs very close so can short etc.

Is it possible to partially dismantle the coilpack, removing the boot and pencil part for inspection and cleaning?

They looked fairly sealed to me but without one to wreck, I can't say for sure.

had the same problem myself was a coil, drove myself mad about it hoping it wasnt, made a loom in the end using a volvo connector on the pos, TFSI coils, and the loom came from a TFSI car, its just the matter of stripping it down to what you need, luckily my brothers an electrician he sorted it for me! otherwise 034 do a kit thats plug and play for a few hundred pound, i saved around £150.00 doing it myself, well not myself but you know what i mean lol.

Glad to see all the feedback and hearing about similar problems to mine currently.

Continuing with the mysterious misfire of my ABY S2, it seems to only misfire if I give it a lot of throttle or maybe about 1/2 way. Light throttle, it's as smooth as can be. Guessing such a symptom is more likely to be a weak coil as mentioned above right?

Hope to get this sorted soon so I can stop worrying about it's sickness

Definitely sounds like a weak coil. Suggest that you read this (link below) and test and determine which coil needs to be replaced:

Ryan, exact same symptoms I had.. Slight splutter.. Then went worse like hitting a boost wall If I kept on thrashing it it developed into a constant misfire, until cooled down, then same drama all over again..

That's exactly it, just keeps sputtering getting worse if you keep going. I may purchase the 034 or efi express plug and play kit instead of just replacing one or two coils which may be faulty. The stealers want 160 euros here locally (130GBP) .

                    Thanks for the help!

I used tfsi coils- and got rid of the coil cover.. Coils were 14.00gbp each.. I think? The guy at Gsf done me a deal on 5!

It might* be worth buying the loom from 034 and your coils locally.. Whichever works out cheaper I guess..
