IIRC it is....not cheap and don't even ask about the washer they use...its costs a small fortune!...and they don't list the part on etka!...

Is it recommended to replace this bolt when changing the cambelt? I don't remember buying a new bolt the last time I changed the belt.

I've never replaced it when doing timing belts unless it's damaged

Yes. And since it is a stretch bolt, it is supposed to be replaced at every timing belt change. Washer is fine to reuse.

When I fit one without washer the the belt wandered over the edge of pulley and fouled the back plate, not a good condition. 16 quid for bolt as I recall.

Where did you find the source of info which states this is a stretch bolt.

There is no mention in any Audi documentation to replace this bolt.

The bolt now is like 30 quid from Tps. Ive decided to change the centre bolt, camshaft sprocket, camshaft chain, obv timing belt, relay roller. Small fortune for the parts but rather spend money on oem.

It may be a stretch bolt that's used well within it's elastic limit. If so, I'd presume it could be reused without any issues.

Also Febi does the bolt. Was something like 7 euros last time I bought it.
