Purpose is to discuss topic and share information that I got from Jonus.
I was looking for high rpm, and as much displacement as possible and taking rod ratio to account.
Jonus informed now that 9000rpm with 95.5mm crank in 236mm block is not a problem with dry sump. This gives 28.7m/s pistonspeed and rod ratio of 1.66 which is poor for a turbocharged motor that rev 9000rpm. Some serious numbers...
He has experience like hell and using this setup in his own machines without cylinderwear/eating pistonrings for quite long. Also the head must flow to these high pistonspeeds.
I was in to use the 92.8mm crank instead, but he advice me to not go that way. With 92.8mm I got a good 1.73 rod ratio with 160mm rods and loose only ~50cc. Turbocharged engines with hi rpm always uses good rod ratio for a reason I feel.
Feels a bit confusing to decide now, but sure he now what he's talking about. It's amazing how these engines holds... What is your 50 cents?
