My S2 has decided to spring a leak, and it seems to be flowing from the "additional water pump"
The online etka has this listed as part no. 034 965 561 C
Am I right in thinking this is the afterrun pump that helps cool the turbo?
Also any ideas on cost to replace it??
Cheers,
Nick R

The part number is correct and yes, this is the pump that circulates water to the turbo in 'after-run'. It's £60+vat from us, or £68.47+vat from the dealers so not a lot of difference. If this is leaking then it must be the inlet or outlet cracked, or maybe the water pipes split.
Nearly every Audi 80, 100, 200, A6 >97 and Coupe that uses an after run pump uses this one, so you may be able to get a used one.
I have been having problems with my TCP and my local dealer quoted me £175 + vat. I could not believe this so I had to check the part number you gave and its correct.
Martyn, everytime you give me a quote, you usually beat the dealer by at least 40%, which is the case here. However, Nick's quote is close to yours, so why such a price difference between dealers?
thats a big difference in price!! I imagine that your dealer has gotten the price wrong somehow - after all Martyn quoted the dealer price to me which matched my local dealer.
The plastic pump housing on the end of the motor had indeed cracked. When I removed the pump unit, the horizontal oriented nipple had snapped off and remained in the end of the hose itself. I had to carefully remove the bits as it disintegrated! Changing the part was a bit of a pain (like so many S2 jobs), undoing the jubilee clips was awkward on my 3B. I found taking the top hose off the main rad gave me a bit more scope to juggle things about.
Re-fitting so that the mounting rubbers were attached correctly was fiddly too.
The task maybe a little easier on an ABY because there a tiny bit more room due to the absence if the battery!

I would imagine your local dealer (or stealer as martyn calls us ) is pulling a fast one. They probably ignored the july price update so they can still squeeze mega money out of you while buying it for a lot less.

ok, easiest way.. (you've removed both yes?) Put one in place and use a BLUNT screwdriver to push each of the pegs through the holes and in place. So, line each of the rubber pegs up with the hole, wriggle each peg half way into the hole IE 45 degrees in, then use the blunt screwdriver to force the rest of each peg into the hole.
When you have both fitted, spray a little WD40 on either the pump or inside the rubber rings to help you slip the pump back into them, it really helps!! try to do it without WD40 and you'll get a back ache and fed up!
Don't forget to plug the wiring back on either!! easily done! don't do up the jubilee clips to tight either risking breaking the pump outlets. If it leaks, you can always do them up a little bit more later!
