I've been wondering how long these last, I've got 135,000 miles on the clock, turbo is definitely stock from manufacture (96) and has never been replaced. Does look a little worse for wear though overall it runs very smoothly, no smoke, boosts properly as well (1-1.4 bar of boost).
Should I be worried about it going wrong any time soon or should it be oki for another couple of years?

Very similar here too, original turbo, age and mileage and its fine... I'd expect a lot more yet though, our Ur is on 135k too, and the original turbo, and still going like the clappers... So, that'll be over 27years old then...

According to the papework which came with my aby she/it had a replacment
at main stealer at 126k from the 1st owner. Prior to that it, looks to of had
everything it ever needed.
However i bought it with 145+k on the clock with a bit of smoke out
of the back, lucky it turned out to be valve seals which i think is
forgivable at that milage.

Luckily mine isn't smoking, runs fine, hopefully it should be oki for a few more years
Mine began to whistle at 262500miles because of play in the shaft. Before that, it worked like a charm and never been changed as I'm the only owner of the car so I know it is stock.
I may add that actually depends as Rocco said on how you take care of it (driving style, oil, making it spool when cold...)

There is an UrS6 over here in Canada with 515,000 km on the original turbo so they can last a long time. There are also K24-7000s available from people who have upgraded to K24-7200 or Garrett/Holset hybrids. Bottomline: Don't worry too much about your K24-7000 dieing too soon. (But treat it nicely, as others have suggested)

It shouldn't be a problem then, I let it spool up and get up to running temperature every time I drive it, and give it a few minutes before I turn off the car.
