These HAVE to be fitted by turbo specialists. As i doubt if you have the balancing equipment. I might be cheaper just to buy a new/recon turbo

I think mine is going sick - I might have that reco kit off you sir !

When I pressure test mine - from the MAF hose into turbo - I can hear air pissing past a seal - it can then be heard bubbling into the sump.

The turbo now makes an audible whine which it never used to do...

Don't think I'll bother with the Scottish trip now cos of this...

            Cheers,

That's not true, you can mark the shafts in relation to each other. Otherwise why would the site say they also supply kits if you want to do it yourself.

I got the same scenario, blew the seals, need reconditioning.

Got a £250 quote from AET turbos in UK. Spoke to my mates in Lithuania, will get done for about £100-bargain . In a decent company that specialises in turbos.

Anybody interesting PM me. As I will be flying to Lithuania on New Years eve for a week and will be taking my turbo on the plane. (hope airport security will not confiscate that-need to check-because last time they took it of me impact srew drivr-

I hate to say this but you are wrong. A trubo is a very delicate piece of kit that is balanced to extremely fine tolerances and the only people that can do this kind of thing are reputable turbo remanufacturers. Not only that, but how can you test and measure the individual components prio to reassembly
There may well be kits on the market but I personally would never attempt a turbo rebuild without access to the necessary balancing and measuring equipment. Fortunately I know just the people

Well, I thought you were wrong still, because I know many who have done it. SO I called the number on turbonetics website and ask them. They said that they aren't balanced that well at the factory, and you can just mark the relation of the wheels to each other and re-assemble it. So I guess if turbonetics says you can....

My turbo rebuilder always rebalances every turbo I give them (even if they change no parts associated to the shaft and wheels) up to 100k RPM. A K24 can spin as fast as 145-150k RPM FWIW.
