I don't see the point either. If you want low boost, just disconnect the N75

If I'd search how many boost problems and issues S2 owners have had with the N75 and the famous words: why on earth is it not boosting AGAIN? I'd come up with a lot of threads and posts.

Its not that the motronic system is bad, its because its overprotective of the turbo, engine, etc that whenever there is a hint of a glitch you end up with a drop in boost pressure and the smile is wiped off your face.

Aftermarket systems are more crude. They are relatively easy to tune and lots of tuners don't bother wadlsting time learning the original systems as its faster and profitable to fit an aftermarket system to tune.

The good thing about them is the fact that if you know what you are doing you fit and forget and boost is always reached. However if you don't know what you are doing you could be having multiple small boost leaks, the controller will overdoing the turbo to reach the target boost and eventually may cause a premature wear of the turbo

There are actually very few cases where the stock ECU cuts boost.
All of them are very valid reasons to do so.

              A list:
              1. Your car is over 120C coolant (ABY).
              2. Your car has a slipped tooth on the timing belt or the timing is off.
              3. You have a massive boost leak.
              4. Your car's wastegate has jammed stuck, and it's boosting out of control.
              5. Your knock sensors are bad.

I think that about covers it? Would someone come forward and tell me that any of those reasons are not valid to turn off boost?

What I meant to say is not the reasons why the ecu would to spring boost, but the multiple occasions when the boost should be x value and it is not reached. Such as 0.1 to 0.3bar less, and a lot of the times you don't get a fault code, cause lets face it, the motronic would not always throw a code for you, and you are banging your head on the wall why its not boosting as it should!

I have to say, even if it is a coincidence but ever since I bought the car from 2 maps from 2 different people, I would every now and then have to look for reasons why its not boosting properly.
I haven't had such issues for a long time now. As I say, it could be a coincidence

one thing is to have different boost setups and other is to have 0.4bar or 1bar....
it also leaves fault code in the Motronic

even with your right foot you can control the boost.... is not "very" easy and confortable but works

I'd say it's down to mapping. Out of all things I had problems with on Motronic, rock solid boost was never the problem...
I can map it to a certain value, and it will always hit that, assuming of course the WGDC is not fully maxed, then it can boost a little bit more in winter, but on most setups it isn't.

As for 0.1-0.3 less boost - there is a IAT dependent boost map, if left stock it will decrease boost exactly this much with colder air. Most people never touch it.

                      I see.

As I said I only have my own experience. Seems to me that I never had any boost related problems once the motronic was off, and a lot of them while it was on. Maybe I was very strict with what boost I was supposed to be seeing
