    ABY sometimes ón 4cyl??

    Hi guys.
Am having some problems with my good old trusty s2 avant aby.
When the engine is cold then all is good but the warmer the engine gets the more it goes ón 4 cyl.
It isent a constant problem as a broken piston, but i havent checked compression yet.
It doesnt use Oil or water, and the problem Got smaller when i changed the hods ón the coils.
Am i right in thinking it's a dead coil?

Problem found, coil nr 1 was ón 50% only so changed coil and all ok

It could be, or it could be a dodgy pos unit. Have you checked which cyl is dropping? When on 4 cyls pull the lead off each injector in turn, when you pull one and it makes no difference you have the cyl, then swap the pos units over and do the same again to see if the dead cyl moves.

Been out testing tonight, it drives almost normal when boots is arround -5 - +5psi, but now it misfires on ilde also, but not all the time.
Could this be related to vacum hoses / mapsensor?

              No, it's your ignition system.

Have you pulled the fault codes from the ECU?
Have you pressure tested the car?

These are the first two things you do on these cars.

No fault codes, this was the absolut frist thing i did.
I havent pressure testet the vacum hoses but visually inspectet them, same as the boost hoses.
I will get a new coil tomorrow to test with, will se then.

This equals to doing nothing. Pressure test is the only way to go.
Do this and you will know if it leaks.

If it does not, then it's most likely a coil.

The majority of problems with these cars is as dimitri keeps trying to tell people is boost leaks, the pipework on the majority of cars is now old and will start showing up when the boost is turned up.

Well in my case it does as i'm using custom hard piping and all is checked every time i chance Oil etc.
Problem is solved now, coil nr 1 was ón 50% so changed the coil and all ok nok.
                      Thanks guys.
