    VAG-COM - G62 temp ABY

    Hello to all,

Last sunday i have read the measuring blocks of my ABY at hot idle and noted that G62 temp was 102ºC (10ºC higher than the temp of engine on climatronic).
I have read a G62 resistance at cold of 2200 ohm and 210 ohm at 80ºC (climatronic).
I also checked the engine temp with a PT100 sensor and was the same of climatronic.
Is this normal? Did anyone checked this temps on your cars?
If this isnt normal, how this affects the engine?

    Regards,
    Filipe

At room temperature G62 should read between 1.5->3.0 k ohms.

If yours is at 2100, it's bang on.

See page 28-21 of the manual for more details

Your cold G62 resistance is within spec. If the manuals don't say anything about the hot resistance, then it likely isn't important enough to worry about.

          Bottomline: Don't worry, be happy.

            Hello UrS4boy,

I know that the major utility of this sensor is when the engine is at room temp. I just was concerned with the temp difference at hot idle because i dont know how the ECU limits boost and fuel when engine overheats (maybe by kock control, i dont know).
Anyway, today i founded the measuring values of G62 at cold and hot temps on this link http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/troubl.../20vcoolt.html.

            Thanks

IF your engine temp is over 90C under normal driving, you have a cooling system problem and you need to address that. Otherwise, you are worrying too much.

I will include that graph in my G62 post:
