    Chips for ABY

When looking for chips i have noticed a couple of people have mentioned if the car has a chip key/ immob.

Does it make a difference if it has a factory immobiliser?
Do any of the chip sets come with the sockets?

    Thanks.

Some chips for an immobilized car will not work in a non-immobilized ECU.
Furthermore, immobilized chips in a different ECU will cause the ECU to de-sync from the immobilizer and will need to be re-adapted with VAG-COM unless a few checksums are corrected...

Non-immobilized chips will work in all ECU's.

If i was to fit an exchange ECU to my car which is chipped, so the original immob ECU is gone - will it start?

If the ECU is non-immo, yes.
