    Exhaust camshaft on intake side?

Any suggestions on chopping a exhaust cam and fitting it into the intake side?
I know it has been done on 16v engines, but will the lift and duration be sufficient for this?
I guess it will be use of adjustable cam gears.

    Anyone?

I'm running 2 x 7a exhaust cams. If dialing them in naturally aspirated you can keep stock pulleys. If dialling in for turbo use you'll need a vernier pulley. Dialing them in made no real difference to peak power as was on limit of the turbo but increased 4000rpm by 120hp.

What mods need to be done? Cut and reshape the one end in order to accomodate a vernier?

Is dialing in a cam a positional thing or a machining detail?

To make the exh fit as the intake you machine the pulley end of that's the easy bit. Leave enough so you have bearing support on the narrow cap at the front of the engine. The dialing in is indeed a positioning thing and I won't disclose what mine have been dialed in at purely as it cost me an excessive amount of time and money experimenting where the optimal point was for my particular cam configuration.

That's understandable JP, thanks for the explanation.
