    Misfire

Never had any misfires over the last two years since the AAN engine was fitted to my car.

I seem to have an intermitant misfire, which is pretty annoying when you are giving it some!

It is mostly at 3.5-4K but sometimes 6K.

I have tried fitting two different sets of new plugs to the car that I have, NGK R PFR7Q and also a set of BKR8IEX. Both are new, have tried gapping them at 0.6 to 0.7 mm.

I thought this had fixed the issues, but what seems to happen is that the misfires occur eearly on in my journey (but engine is up to temp) or when I have been cruising.

If I start doing repeated hard pulls, after a while the misfire seems to go away.

I have 034 high output coils, the supposed lifetime warrantied ones (they have now changed this on their website to 1 year, and some people have had them fail I think)

Anyway, what else can I test? Any ideas?

Car runs at 400bhp plus, so was unsure of which heat of plug to use, but the 8 did show heavier carbon deposits and some white deposit on the curved electrode tip (fouling?).

I should prob check for codes using vagcom when I pickup my laptop tomorrow?

Well, no codes logged apart from N80 Evap Sensor open circuit ( I dont have one)

I took off some earth leads and took all connectors apart and cleaned with contact cleaner, seems to be fine now (crosses fingers)
