This wasn't a good thing anyway
Filth from crank breather
Pretty sure that filth does not affect it in any way. It's a magnetic trigger and the pin(s) flying past it are what sets it off.
If you tested engine speed sensor with engine off, it's always going to throw a code.
If engine was on and the code was in then there is something wrong with it.
Do more codes come with engine running?
Do some not come in until sporadic failure?
If its g40 when hot would it show up when cold?
Anything wrong with a trigger _must_ log a code when the engine is running.
If you have any faults related to the primary triggers you will have codes.
If there are no codes and it cuts out probably the ECU is losing ground, the fuel pump is cutting out for one reason or another, or just the electric supply to the entire car is bad.
You can rule out an electric problem with the ECU by running a diagnostic session and seeing if the diagnostic session disconnects whenever the car cuts out.
You can rule out a fuel pump problem by attaching a fuel pressure gauge and watching the fuel pressure when it stalls. If the fuel pressure immediately goes to zero it means the fuel pump is cutting out, if not, it means the injectors are stopping to work as well, so it is something to do with electronics.
Plugged in again while running
I showed garage bloke g28 when not running-says he's learnt something new
Did 19 miles, slow and under boost
Didn't cut out at all
Will try a longer run soon but reluctant till I can go on my own as don't want kids with me stuck at road side
Garage serves a wide variety of cars from 1940 s up to present but mainly modern moderns for the last few years
Stall on the car doesn't happen regularly enough to make it happen while plugged in

Jack of all trades - master of none
Try attaching a fuel pressure gauge and driving around with it sticking up from under the bonnet.
265 miles and it's stalled again
In a better place thank u god and fired up again straight away
Thermal fuse hot to touch so I ve replaced with spade type and see what happens
