!!! In 3 or 4 miles, the engine is barely up to temperature, if it even makes it. I don't think there would be much to worry about turbo cool down-wise. But hey...

My sentiments, as well. In this climate, the after run system comes on regularly, even when just driving civilized. However, it is never on for more than 4-5 minutes.

Recently had to bypass the pump as it was leaking. Should not be a problem either.
Would prefer to have a pump, just not having the cash for it right now.

I do have the "cheap" replacement PN.

I think the lower temp switch is the way to go, i have one but never got around to pulling the rad fan to fit it. The only time i have ever heard the system work on my S2 if after 30mins playing in a muddy field where it was nice and hot with little to no airflow through the radiator.

The CQ20v on the other hand uses an ambient temp sensor mounted above the exhaust manifold, and it runs almost every time you get out of the car with no ill effects to the battery at all. I think its power supply does time out after 10mins or so.

That 7A switch trick is flagged as an option in the post link that I provided above.
