fitting adjustable cam gear - question

trying to fit repos adjustable cam gear (chain) on camshaft I have a question...

...it seems to be, that heating the ring from the camgear up to 170°C (oven) is not enough to get the ring on the cam - it is still to small...

...so here is the question - how much temperature is needed/allowed to fit it...

or do I have to use a blowtorch??

    thx...

oven normally works, you can also put the cam in the freezer

I used a gear puller to separate it from cam... no problem... but fittig the new gear seems to be not so easy...

            Ok thx...

I also found a description from an old VAG service manual for shrinking spur gear... heating 200 max. 240 deg C ... at 220 deg C - 6 seconds time to fit...

            ..I will try again...
