k jet fuel pressure test kit

Im currently re building a rather mint mk1 golf gti tin top. Its nearly done but has some off idling fluctuations and a slight hesitation at low rpm .
I suspect its pressure related or possibly a faulty warm up regulator.
However to take the guess work out i reckons its best to test it with appropriate kit.
Does anyone have a k jet tester and know howto use it?
I know the urs use k jet and the mk1 owners forum is very slow.

The car has been re built from a bare shell and Im convinced after checking things it pressure related.
Im not great with k jet but know how important it is to test pressure before you do anything.
All the fuel lines and tank have been replaced so it needs testing anyway.

is it full mechanical k jet ? or does it have the electrical warm up reg like in the pic above? had similar symptoms before and pluging in and out the reg used to clear it for the day or two.. if it has o2, a analouge volt meter help alot for setting idle mixture and seeing whats going on whilst your driving. my 2 cents good luck

there are not that many parts on the golf mk1 k-jet. if the warm up regulator works properly, there are some problems with the fuel distributor, but in most cases, they are fine.
does the car have cold start issues?

Its not great from cold start its not great at starting it any point.
I know there aren't many bits but plan to a methodical test rather than swapping bits.

ok, you need a device like this on the picture. bolt it between the line from fuel distributor and the warm up regulator. there are two kinds of pressure. system pressure and what´s "steuerdruck" called in german, so maybe duty pressure?

with the valve you can switch from one test-mode to the other.
                        the system pressure: valve open
duty pressure of the warm up regulator: valve closed. the lower the duty pressure, the higher the amount of fuel, going through the distributor to the injectors.
                        hope, this helps.

this procedure was a major step forward for my 16v after the conversion. perfect air/fuel mixture up to 7500 rpm

I have the correct testing equipment that i used to sort out my ur, You really need a t-piece with a shut off valve so you can test the overal pressure as well as the control pressure, The control pressure should be about 1.2 increasing to about 3.4 when warm.
I spent years trying to get mine right, it either wouldn't cold start or ran rich, found out it was the warm up regulator.

                          need to type faster

warm up regulator on back of engine check to ensure good operation. its basically an old style isv.

when its warm does it run ok?

Yeah when warm revs cleanly to red line. The revs still seems to fluctuate between starts.
My thoughts are the wur but want to be sure before I replace.
Also it is a full mechanical k jet , not jet tronic in first picture.
