Is there someone on this forum that is using nitrous on a s2 3b.What i would like to know is what do u do with the timing and boost control if you put nitrous on a 3b or do u have to fit a aftermarket management system.

Thks
AFAIK, Martynf is looking to use 100hp NOS on his ABY slipperwagon.
Martyn, is the setup / considerations the same for ABY / 3B ?

This went quiet. I am interested in playing with this. I have all the bits at home needed to make a full wet kit: 60bar tank, solenoids etc. Just need a selection of the appropriate carb jets for accurate nozzles and a WOT-activated switch.
How do I sort out the needed ignition changes on my remapped car?

But how on our Motronic ECU? I have coilpacks too. I don't want a compromised setup but want something that works well with and without the laughing gas.

What about a system that "tricks" the MAP/MAF signal when activated? Making the ECU think airflow is higher. That way you get more fuel and less advance
I was going to tap into the regulated fuel rail anyway to give the additional fuel. That is nice as it is a known pressure and very easy to size a nozzle for. Nitrous nozzles are also dead easy to size due to the constant storage pressure (vapour pressure approx 60bar) of nitrous when anything but empty.
Would like to know more about the practicalities of a switchable piggy-back device but I am not sure I could bring myself around to using it.
Maybe the best option is a switchable ECU with 2 maps. Therefor as soon as you go WOT it switches to the second map before blasting in the rod-bending nitrous. Need to have some other safeguards in there too. Some simple logic to look at temperatures and engine speeds to make sure it doesn't kick in during inopportune moments!

Ive been looking for a good uni project and this looks like it may be possible with a bit more development and run it on a FPGA or something like that.
How much +HP are you aiming for?
What about using a separate gastank/pump with highoctane to go together with the nitrous? The higher octane would probably handle "stock" advance if it's a moderate amount of nitrous.
I would run it with 102 RON tank fuel anyway. I have a Bosch Motorsport fuel pump so flowrate to the rail is not an issue. If there is anything else in the tank the system would be disabled.
Power increase? Start with +25 bhp then build up towards +150bhp. I am only going to use it to increase torque (hence power) at high revs. Something progressive bringing it in from around 4000rpm gradually increasing towards redline.

Hi
What i think will happen with the timing is that if you going to use n2o the knock sensors of the ecu will ratard the timing as soon as they detect any kind of detonation. What i am going to to is fit say 75hp jets and multiply the fuel jet by 2 and check the color of the spark plugs and reduce the zise of the fuel one x one until the sparkplugs looks good also i will be running 102 octane fuel with a mix of toulene 50/50
