thats just for aligning the front pully to the sprocket . it only goes on in one position because the four allen headed bolt holes on the sprocket and the front pully are not square, if you look at them carefully they are slightly off square .

Okay. I knew the nipple on the toothed belt sprocket was only to align the harmonic damper/pulley on the sprocket but did not realize that the four holes are not square. When I re and re'd my sprocket during a timing belt renewal on my RS2'd AAN, I know that I didn't give it much thought, it just went back together.

Sorry, I know this reopens an old thread and/or wounds but I can see how the circular valley on volcano rs's pulley teeth drives the flat side face of the rubber belt teeth. I prefer the shape of these billet sprocket teeth since they match the OE sprocket better and will drive the belt on the full face of the teeth, not just at two points (and maybe only one) on the tooth. Sorry.

Jamil's one is the right one...as the vibration damper has a hole where the notch goes... in the uppep picture...you need to insert a pin.
                        Both are ok though!

when you wrap the belt around it you will see it fits spot on ,after a few hundred or thousend miles the teeth on the belt become slightly rounded .if you look in my original thread (steel crankshaft sprocket) i've put a pic of the belt wrapped around the sprocket and it sits spot on. whats the price difference on tommis?

You are confusing "fit" with function. I saw the old thread and saw that the teeth fit into the semi-circular valleys. That is not my point. My point is how the tooth on the steel pulley drives the tooth on the rubber belt. On the OE pulley, the metal pulley tooth contacts the full side of the rubber tooth, on yours there are at most two contact *points* (not areas, just a line) and maybe only one point (line). This will concentrate the stress on the rubber tooth and potentially lead to the rubber teeth being sheared off the belt with time. How long I don't know.

The other billet designs seem to match the OE metal pulley tooth profile much better.
