    Timing belt kit

Where is the best place to purchase a complete timing belt kit. Also can you still get all the bolts from the stealers/Tps and is the crankshaft pulley still available.

Seen a kit on 034 $145 plus p+p don't know the cost of that though as you have to log in have tried but no joy.

Typical 034 advertising, I do not think this kit is suitable for a ADU

        Cost of timing belt kit

Just come of the phone with my local Tps and got a price for the cambelt change as it doesn't come in a kit, To buy all parts needed a whopping £259.63 including vat
Is there anywhere else we can buy a little bit cheaper.

Get the belt from Audi tps. I wouldn't trust a cheaper version from another place on my love and joy.

I bought all mine from tps still needing to do the job can't remember it was that much.

Oh wait they quoted me a completed idle tensioner not the relay roller it's called. Maybe ring again and make sure it's just the roller

Dampner? As in the harmonic damper on the end of the crank?

Get the RS2 water pump and RS2 cambelt, they're a little bit more money.

Themostat requires quite a bit of work to change on a stock car, is it weak or are you having running issues?

To be honest Andy don't really know ref dampner its just what Tps said i would need

I thought about the Rs2 pump and belt don't know what diff it makes?

Again was under the impression you would do the thermostat anyway for piece of mind and there is no mention of the pump and thermostat being done last time it had the belt done which was 4yrs ago it's only done 15,000 miles since then.

Well worth doing the water pump at the same time, if it's not been done. The RS2 unit has a smaller pulley, so spins faster and requires a shorter belt.

Did you get a part number for that dampner?

You'll also need a new bottom pulley and bolts, as well as a new crank bolt - just check out the recent thread on one falling to pieces!

I thought about a new pulley as the car makes a squeaking noise when it's ticking over as if sumits loose.

No didn't get a part number for the dampner.

My squeaks came from the alternator belt needing a nip up also gave power steering the same. And squeaks went. May not help you out but worth a ten minute job
