Hey, running the homefrys chipset, it is Aby. Normally pulls 1.4 sometimes 1.5 I've seen.

Always I let my car warm up oil and water. So water is below 90 and oil at the first mark.

Just seen today it's not getting above 1.2 sometimes just going to 1.0 it's a mix bag of pressure readings in the usual gears.

    Moisture Trap info

Sorry I didn't participate in this post earlier. My moisture trap post shows the RS2/S2 moisture trap in the left side front kick panel. Now that you found it, you might as well check it for "moisture", which BTW, can be fuel. Some one on my home forum found fuel in theirs (and their MAP sensor) because the diaphragm in their FPR had failed.

So last two days driving the Audi

Noticed it can run smooth under full load but... Only reaching 1.2 bar. I haven't seen it in ages hitting 1.5/1.4

So guessing my boost is being restricted somewhere??

Thought last night maybe my dv has failed causing the poor running of the car.

    Any thoughts

Thing that's good with smoke tester is it located the leak and makes it visual. Can also see if one way valves are working by taking the connecting pipe off. Saves a lot of time searching for split pupes......

Good luck hope you get it sorted.

Can I smoke like fifty fags and blow into the turbo hose??? That's a smoke test right there.

I bet it's the tinniest of leaks. Well hopefully this weekend have checked for leaks and report back

I used a smoke test on my Engine. Found 3 slight leaks within a min. Not cheap though. Lucky I know someone with one.

So it's the white one. All hoses connected to the trap. Worth removing the trap to check water??

The car can run ok but feels like ok running stock power. Shows 1.2bar 1.1bar holds and slight drop off through the rev range to 1bar.

Awaiting to boost test it. Will swap rich's over also to see any difference.

So when opening up the wastegate cap.

How much play is to much??? I'm guessing pulling the value up and measuring?? Any how to guides on the forum?

Spring looked near new. The diaphragm split free. Ok they all leak slightly.

But if it was failing, be overboosting to silly figures. Never seen my car above what is chipped to.
    that´s not true

if your wastegate valve has a lot of play because the long use you will can start boosting like normal..but few seconds later it will pull boost out giving you only mechanicall boost

i happened me with 2 engines... and 2 friends with S2 the same .... so take it in account.

I agree that just doing this will take alot of out of the equation.

Fault elimination by substitution can be useful if there is a logical reason. If the fault has occured since swapping the ecu's then its either the ecu or its connection to the pipework.
Its unusual but it is possible that the internal hose from the nipple to the map sensor could have split or be detached.
Cars been running awesome for months. Can't remember if it played up before when I had the non chipped ecu or the chipped.

I followed the ecu line it just went through the bulk head and there was no trap ....... unless it's located somewhere else.
