Rs2 Water Pump Is It Worth The Upgrade

Phoned Tps today to price up an Rs2 W/Pump as iv been advised from lads on here to upgrade to said pump. Anyway the guy asked me if i was sitting down so i said do i need to he replied i think you should then he hit me with the good news £249.99 + vat my reaction Compared to £79.49 for the Aby one. So my question is it worth £170.50 for a pump with one tooth less .

The jury is out so just need the verdict.

s2 pump will be fine , but you could chuck some water wetter in just for extra cooling

I had an RS2 waterpump fitted by MRC last July (2012) and the pump cost £88.15 inc gasket +vat. You also need an RS2 Cambelt at the same time.

Maybe send a message to Ben (S2Avant) who works at Coventry TPS for a price.

I am convinced you will be able to press the pulley off the RS2 pump and onto the ABY one.

The RS2 pump used to be an exchange item which is why you've been quoted that price for a one off. Ben be best placed to confirm.

BTW if you change from ABY to RS2 water pump there is also a restrictor piece you should buy for the water outlet

Alex can you purchase the Adu pulley on it's own?

My RS2 pump wasn't an exchange item last year as i had a recent S2 pump on the car which i sold on to another Forum member.

They've just according to Paul "Audi Parts Guru" had a massive price rise and have to come from Germany now.

I've done it once myself, well not myself but my mechanic and it's an easy swap.
