    Coil part numbers

Alright guys. Thought be a handy thread to cross reference in the future for those upgrading their coil pack from oem to the 1.8t coils.

Could you be kind enough to post up part numbers for the 1.8t coils 2.0t and the 2.5tfsi

Also the difference between running one of the three. And also what modifying if any needs done to the coil.

    Thanks Chris.

So having done the coil conversion recently here are soem part numbers for you:

1.8T coils - Lucas PN DMB808. - These are shorter than the 2.0TFSI coils so will need trimming to fit in an ABY cover.

2.0TFSI coils - Lucas PN DMB908. - These are taller than the 1.8T coils and plug straight in to an ABY cover. No trimming needed.

Im afraid I cant help with the 2.5TFSI coils number.

Which plugs did you go for???

I'm reading so much old posts saying the 1.8t just burn up quick.

And the 2.0t and 2.5 have a dwell protection in them to last longer.

The Lucas part numbers quote to Audi tps or????

      Thanks Chris

I have an ABY so I went for the 2.0TFSI plugs as I didnt need to trim them to fit. They just push and clip on with no issues.

I got my coils from Bennetts as I have a mate there. I would guess you can call part suppliers and give them the Lucas number and see if they can match them? Alternatively just say you need coils from a 2.0TFSI engine. Thats what I did and they hooked me up no problems.

You poor guys. I paid US$88 including shipping for five of these. Available at about $16 each plus shipping. No idea why you aren't getting prices like that in the UK.

I get them out the US. PM europeanme (Mike). He has tried to get them from the same US supplier to the UK after I declined to get involved (I would have to import them from the US to Canada, pay duty (not for personal use), and then export to the UK).
