I've been hunting a hard to find water leak for some time. I've discovered that there's a weep from the bottom of the after run pump (not from any of the hoses) when the engine's running. Is this repairable or do I need to get a new one?
Quite a common problem
If it's the housing that has split or cracked you need a new one unfortunately
Thanks for the info, I reckon that's what has happened. I can't quite see exactly where it's coming from, when I put my finger underneath it seems to be coming from that rubber ring/mounting nearest to the bulkhead. I'll get a new one ordered in the morning.
Hi All, I've been hunting a hard to find water leak for some time. I've discovered that there's a weep from the bottom of the after run pump (not from any of the hoses) when the engine's running. Is this repairable or do I need to get a new one? Many thanks. David
Its the same as the after run pump on a VW T4 transporter. One of the 2.5tdi engines. You can find them in scrap yards and get to them really easily as its just under the front of the van under the front bumper... Can get them off in about 2 seconds flat!
Easy to find and get, cheaper than a brand new one too!
