Oil Filter query

After spending the day helping a buddy working on a Ur quattro I noticed that it had two oil filters, using a secondary one for the turbo oil feed.
My buddy mentioned that Toyota specified a special oil filter for turbocharged Supras back in the day which had a finer particulate filtration spec.
So, now I'm wondering what's the best filter for our S2's? I know that Demon Tweeks sell "performance" oil filters by K&N, but I'm wary of them. I have used Hengst filters over the years on my Audis. There's loads of discussion on the Forum regarding oil quality/grades but I'm interested in which filter is best. ?

I would order direct from Audi for once, not overpriced. Either that or go for a "Mann" filter as from what I can make out these are consistently good quality.

Don't miss having to chnge the two on my old 10V engine.... A bit tight to get at!

Is sad to know that Mann moved to China so the quality isn't so great I think. I use Mahle Kneckt or original filter from dealer.

The OE filter from Audi is a Mann 719/30, easy to source from any motor factors and half the price Audi charges for them. I have used Knecht in the past, seemed just as well made to me.

Personally i think the K&N oil filters are snake oil, i just dont buy it.

It is curious how they did away with the second filter, most 911's have two as well, even the normally aspirated engines.

Alway a Audi oil filter and a good oil ever 3000 or 5000 miles. Oil is the life off your Turbo so keep it healthy
