K26/k27 turbo for an S2 will it work

I have the chance to buy an exhaust manifold and K26/k27 turbo which I am told came off a 1997 Audi ur-S6.

Due to my lack on knowledge can anybody advise if it will suit and fit a 1996 S2 if it can what modifications would be needed to make it work and will anything else have to be changed e.g. pump, ECU software etc.

Also will it improve the cars performance and by what amount.

    All advice is welcome

Need to change a lot to get the best out of that.... Then there's the question if what spec the turbo is

In short, it can be used but be prepared to buy lots of other bits to fit to a stock car.

you can bolt on rs2 spec. on k26 /27 turbo
      rs2 exhaust manifold or better
rs2 airbox or moded aby airbox
rs2 ecu with high boost chips
rs2 injectors or even better 440cc injectors
      3.8 fpr
      3" downpipe
      3" exhaust
and should be enough for 400bhp

Sounds like a lot of additional work. I though it may have just been bolt on plus software mod.

Looks like I will not bother

          yep!
without them bits, you're not gonna get the benefit out of it.so if your not prepared to upgrade, then best not to buy it at all.

With respect to the Exhaust manifold of the S6 is that not suitable or must you go for the RS2 or equiveralnt.

It's not suitable, and you deffo need at least 440cc injectors.
              3.8 FPR is not needed.
RS2 ECU is not needed, your stock one can be modified to suit.
              Airbox mods are not needed.

                  Edit:- beaten to it.

Stock EM isn't suitable, neither are stock injectors, fuel pump, intercooler, 20 year old boost pipes, MAP sensor, ECU map, MAF might not be up to the job, clutch... etc. etc. etc.

Yes, you can in theory get it mapped to work with all stock kit but then you're wasting your time, as it'll produce maybe 300-330bhp with more lag than stock and only 10% more power than a chipped ABY...

Depending on the price I could get the turbo for would you guys recommend building up a kit with the parts you are recommending plus the K26/27 or is there another route you would recommend?

I am looking for 350 to 400hp with minimum lag.

My car is in very very very good condition.

I do understand that the clutch will need work one day and pipes always need attension.

                    Thanks

350 to 400 minimum lag, look at K24-7400.
K26/K27 is full boost at 4k in 3rd.

Depending on the spec of the turbo, you have 2 options:
                          1. Buy the turbo and sell it on to fund the purchase of other, more suitable parts, maybe even swap it for an RS2 turbo.
                          2. Build your new setup around the turbo.

For 350-360bhp, an RS2 turbo offers a very good setup.
For nearer 400, you will need a correct spec. K26/27.

If it's a desirable turbo then you can't lose really, if it's not then you're unlikely to win... Get the details on the turbo first

This is what the owner said about the turbo.

All I can tell you about the turbo is it's a KKK Hybrid I had built as an upgrade to
                            the RS2 turbo.
Has a standard K26 Shaft and exhaust housing
Has a K27 Compressor housing which has been machined for a larger K27 Wheel.
Comp Wheel measures 73mm at the base (for torque)
Diameter of top of wheel (length of blades) is 47mm (for horsepower)
Height from bottom of wheel base to top of the start of wheel blades is about 5mm (for torque)
