    Boost leak test
    boost gauge
dv valve if you are hearing like a dump valve sound

let us know the results after that.

Just talked to Audi again. Now he said he didn't know if its opened or closed or half open.

The workshop guy was there so he asked him and said it was a faulty diaphragm.

They are getting pricing for new and also reconditioning.

Sounds like the service guy is the prob with relaying info...

Will see if Powerhaus (another mechanics) can take it in for a check.

The Wastegate diaphragm PN is 035145797B (See just under item 10 below) (same PN for 3B, AAN, ABY and your ADU). I have purchased these years ago for something like $50 but now they are available for a mere $155 in the US of A. I wouldn't be very concerned about find a good used WG or even just the WG diaphragm.

thanks! not sure what this means though "I wouldn't be very concerned about find a good used WG or even just the WG diaphragm."

are you saying just get a new diaphragm instead of sourcing a good used one?

And what I meant (but failed because I didn't spell "findING" properly) was the WG diaphram (which BTW Jim Ellis Audi spells as "Diafram" (which makes me doubt their validity)) rarely fails so I would bet you could find a good one in a used 20VT wastegate (IF you could find a used wastegate that is).

Off topic but if the diaphragm was leaking, would unplugging the n75 stop the leak!

Was curious as to what one would do if diaphragm split on me someday

                            Don't ask won't learn

Okay to be fair, if the WGFV was disconnected you wouldn't make as much boost (only WG spring pressure, e.g. 0. 4 Bar ( 6 psig)) so there would be less leakage through a split wastegate diaphragm. So that could be a good/okay thing. But disconnecting the WGFV will not magically mend a torn/ripped WG diaphragm.

                              But you knew that.

with a split diaphragm what does it actually mean? does it not hold the boost as it leaks out the split? so you get some boost but not much depending on how big the split is?

i guess , what I'm asking is, what is it's actual purpose?
