    intercooler core density.

I have been looking into intercooler solutions for my 90 recently and need the best solution in the tightest space. I have been looking at Subaru intercoolers and notice that they are unbelievably dense internally compared to any other I have seen. Does the extra density cause a loss of flow therefore loss in power or does this not matter? What's makes an intercooler core good?

Not sure about the core density, however at RaceRetro this year there was a company selling custom size dual pass bar and fin intercoolers that were quite cheap for the quality.
They would be ace on a typ85 with limited space and both inlet and outlet mounted on the side where you need them.

But after all that waffle I just remembered you have done for a reverse inlet!

Cool I'll maybe check them out. Id like to see what different intercoolers are like of the same size but different densities of fins inside. The Subaru one I've got is so dense you cant see through it at all. There is a guy in the next unit to me with an 800hp skyline engined s13 Nissan and he has 8 Subaru cores welded together 4 in front with 4 behind in a V shape. Each core was 5 quid as alot of Subaru's get broken up and intercoolers are normally changed to front mounts. I'm just wanting the best performance for the size.

You want to look at the range of cores that Garrett do. They have a great reputation.
