No motive power

Just checked stock of the fuel pump and associated upgrade parts, no back orders so the two weeks quote is unusual. All they've done is superceded the coupe pump to the one used in avants. Maybe even audi realise the avant is the best choice and are secretly trying to convert coupes through superceded parts

One thing to check, before spending loads of money as happened to me with my 7A 90Q20V. Take the dizzy cap off and make sure: a. It can't be turned by hand, and b. It rotates when cranking.

Could be that cr@ppy plastic drive gear. Just a thought.

Pete, good tip m8 but he's getting spark at the coil and at the dizzy, in case the dizzy gear is broken (Been There Broke That too BTW) you'll get absolutely no spark, the ECU gives no spark when the crank position sensor and the Hall sender's signals aren't in sync (and they aren't anymore when the dizzy gear is broked, Been There Saw That on my 3B too).

I too have had the old dizzy gear break up. Gives no spark. And a dead car

It is officially a knadgered fuel pump...
Garage has gone direct to Bosch for a new pump, so should get the car back tonight. Hopefully it won't be too expensive.
