    Options for urq alloy radiator

So im fitting a 20vt to a urq. I intend in useing an alloy radiator and I see allisport sell some high capacity 63mm ones. Any one use them? Or any other options? I heard some manufacturers are to be avoided so hence the questions. Cheers des

Just to let you know; I still run the standard rad with no issues at all on the AAN.

Thought about an alloy one, but seems unecessary at the moment. If what allisport say is true (30% better than standard rad), then their standard alloy radiator should be more than enough, as opposed to the extra thick one.

I have an intercooler in front of the rad too, so a thicker one was a no no for me.

Will Hollman in PPC mag had this rad fitted to his quattro, but then they do have some sort of advertising deal with them.

I had an all metal radiator re-manufactured with 4 cores. No need to run the auxiliary radiator either. I used Dixon Radiators in Denton, Manchester. 0161 336 2705 Ask for Alan.

Angus do you still have the aux rad? Im also planing to use the standard rad with aux removed on an ABY (hopefull 400 bhp) and wondering if it will be up to the job.

I have ensured all rad ducting is in place though, something often overlooked which makes a difference.

Aux rad chucked away long ago. (Yes I sold it)

Helps airflow into the engine bay, and remember the 10v was a non crossflow head with everything cramped up on one side.

Pete Berry sugested it based on experience and it's been fine.

Obviously, make sure your rad is not corroded or silted up.

They can be refurbed. I also have the original electric fan on the back. Cuts in less now than on the 10v

Some interesting stuff here. Im not sure my stock radiator is in great order. I will be dumping the aux rad. What about the fan. For track days is stock ok. Cheers
