    Distributor query.

    The two oil passages on the distributor have a piece of felt like material almost blocking one and completely the other.

    What does the felt do

    1 slow down/restrict oil
    2 keep shaft clean
    3 not sure but its not supposed to be across oil ways ?




    There is no side play and .8 mm float and steel gear
    1991 S2 3B Coupe, KW v1, solid sub frames, poly bushed, chipped, about 260 ish

      Mine was like that, I assumed it was there to 'hold' oil to lubricate the shaft.

          The felt holds old to lubricate, but also restricts airflow so oil dosent get pushed through the dizzy into the cap. Its a few inches long, almost the length of the main shaft.
